Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

I am back!

March 5, 2007

I am officially back to work on Friday, 2 Mar 07 - time flies. I am back to an office with lots of changes - I am seated at a new cubicle and my boss is no longer the boss of the dept he was heading and the dept has ceased to operate. Thank God I still have my job and a little increment, which is an added bonus. I guess this is the norm working in a MNC - things changes very fast.

I was taking care of Zoe by myself for the whole of February. It was challenging for me at first as I have no experience taking care of a baby before and I am kinda worried when confinement lady was leaving. Then, I thot to myself - if I cannot take care of Zoe and I am her mother, who else is in better position to take care of her? God has given Zoe to me and made me a mother, surely he has worked out all the details right!
Well! I will just bite the bullet and plunge in and I am sure things will worked out over time. Thankfully, it is really not that hard taking care of my little angel, she seems to understand when mommy need to take a bath or go to toilet and not make a fuss during those times. I would not say that there are no stress at all, there are stressful moments when she cried her lungs out because mommy just cannot understand what she wants - but all are still manageable. Thank you Lord!

Life is triple busier having a baby around and one thing for sure is - No More procastinating any work. Do it now! or baby will wake up soon and she will need me. Wow! I found that I have never been more efficient and effective in finishing all the household chores in the shortest time possible. No nonsense!

I guess this is life as a mother - no nonsense such as day dreaming of what to wear for tomorrow or what to eat so that I will not put on more weight. Just do it! Just eat it!
Speaking about weight - I am now lighter than my weight on my wedding day, which I thot is my best record already. I can now fit into any tight clothings that I had before and I bet I can now wear my Form 1 school uniform emoticon

Zoe is now with the baby sitter and I really had a lot of anxiety and worries before sending her over. I sent her there a few days earlier before I start work so that I can stay there with her to monitor the surroundings and people she will be in contact with. Looks pretty ok so far. Just pray hard every day for her that she will not be harm in any way.

I would say that now it is much easier taking care of her during the night only as compared to whole day. I really salute all the mothers who gave up their job for their babies - it is really hard work round the clock. It takes great love and passion to stay at home whole day tending to babies and not get a salary for it. Only a mother can do it! I am still learning to be a good one and so far is okay with the graveyard shift :p

Hmm…I will post more on Zoe soon, there are just so much about her that I want to write about. Oh boy! she can really take the extreme out of me - one moment I will be running around like mad making sure she is well fed and the next I will be sighing in contentment when she smiles at me while I fed her. Oh yea! by the way - it is really true that every mother thinks that their baby is the cutest one in the world - well, at least in the mother’s world. I think so too…

  3. Pat - Thanks for reading, hehe. Hubby is helping la, but he usually just make the milk and I do the feeding. Somehow, it worked out better that way. It seems that Zoe like to bully daddy when he is feeding her :p

Jazzmint - The pics are still in the camera…aiyoyo, really hard to find time to download the pics la :p
