Zoe Balik Kampung

September 25, 2007

Last weekend, three of us took a flight back to KB. The flight was delayed for 2 hours (both ways) but we were informed much earlier by Air Asia, so it was okay. Thanks to Jon Jon and SL for the free limo transfers to/fro LCCT.

We realise that this time around, only older citizen above 65 years old and those with xpress boarding are allowed to board the plane first. The rest including infant/children queue like normal. I thought earlier that we would be able to board the plane first since we are with Zoe. But, looking at the queue, almost more than 50% of travelers are with young children/babies, so maybe thats the reason that there are no special treatment for children now.

I was slightly anxious on how Zoe would survive the 55 minutes flight. As there are no baby seat available, we have to carry Zoe on our lap in the flight. I took the baby carrier with me and strap her to me, thinking that it was the best I could do for safety sake.

Zoe was bubbly and happy all the way in the flight, very busy trying to tear the magazines/instructions manual emoticon . When the plane took off, she did not seem to realise. We gave her some water once on air, to help her clear her ear pressure. She was snoozing after a few minutes in the flight. Overall, the whole journey seems like just 10 minutes for me and after a few blinks, the pilot was announcing that we are landing…hahaha…so much for the anxiety earlier emoticon

Grandma and great Grandma was also very excited anticipating our arrival. At the arrival gate, we could already see grandma (my MIL) standing right in front trying to identify us from the crowd. We took along 2 luggages and 3 backpacks on this journey. Grandma was tickled that we even took almost 4 litre of filtered diamond water with us. It was for Zoe and we did not manage to exceed the limited weight allowed …hahaha

We stayed in Grandma’s double storey house, but ala kampung style. No water heater, no ceiling fan and pets/pests are allowed to raom the house freely. But, it was good to be home, to have Zoe taste and feel of her Daddy’s kampung and we thank MIL for installing an air cond in our room earlier - Air cond is still one of the best invention in the world!!!

We went to the happening Bazaar Ramadhan at the Stadium once we settled down. Left Zoe with grandma at home to rest. It was raining cats and dogs at the bazaar and the canopies was like almost blown apart. Apparently, it was raining like that daily during the evenings in KB for the past few days. Anyway, that did not stop us from getting out favourite ayam percik, murtabak, laksam, ondeh ondeh and other treats we loved. We head home shortly to find Zoe sleeping peacefully in the living room. MIL busy in the kitchen cooking up a storm for us and told us that Zoe was crying a while after we left. Hmm…the beginning of separation anxiety…

We had a good dinner that night, wholesome home cooked meals by Grandma and treats from ramadhan bazaar. Yummies!!!

Zoe had a chance to take bath in the baby bath basin that belong to hubby when he was born, 30 years ago. Its so nostalgic seeing her in the seasoned bath basin. We gotta do it the kampung style, boil water manually and took a small coffee cup to pour water on her….hahaha

The 2 nights we spend in Grandma house, there was blackout during the evenings. Hubby said that did not happen for many years already, seems like Zoe’s presence is electrifying!!! Lol….

We went to visit great Grandma in Tumpat on day 2, this time it is a real kampung house. Great grandma cooked nasi pulut with curry chicken and rojak buah for us. She is one strong lady, at her ripe old age, she still manage to cook for all of us. She told me to learn to cook the pulut as it is easy and hubby’s favourite. Hubby told me pulut is not his favorite but his sis’s and great Grandma got it mixed up, age is really catching up with her. Anyway, we are all just so amuse at great Grandma’s ways and her numerous stories telling. All of us snooze off at the living area while listening to great Grandma stories after a hearty lunch.

It was the first time great Grandma see Zoe and she remarked that Zoe is "Anak Cina, mata kecik sikit!". Great Grandma family are a mixture of races which sparks her to said so, even herself is half nyonya. Everybody just guessing at who Zoe looks like more and after seeing all the ancestor’s photos on the wall, I think Zoe looks like her great Grandpa…hahaha!

Anyway, we will be seeing great Grandma again in another 2 weeks in KL as she will be flown down to attend hubby’s cousin sister wedding.

Zoe was surely blessed during this trip. Everywhere we brought her, she was given ang pow (red packets) by relatives as most of them is seeing her for the 1st time.

Zoe’s first tooth also sprouted out during this trip. Finallyyy…to symbolise her roots!? HeHeHe…

The trip felt a bit short for 3 days/2 nights and I can see that MIL was heavy hearted to part with Zoe. I never see MIL planted so many kisses and hugs on anyone before except for Zoe…HaHaHa!

If everything goes well, we are planning for Zoe’s 1st birthday party, so MIL will be over here in KL for the celebration and she would definitely have time together with Zoe soon.

Well, the next trip for the 3 of us back would be CNY 2008. By then, Zoe probably will be toddling around already…gotta figure out how to stop her and her cousin (SIL son) from chasing and bullying the cats in Grandma house…yikes!!!

Will write for meals on the table…

September 20, 2007

As I blog hop and read and read and read…there has never been a shortage of paid posts written in some of my favourite blogger site…

In my slow mind, "This must be really good $$$$!!!"

Finally, I think I want to join the bandwagon and maybe I really can realise my dream to work from home. Have my sweetest moments with Zoe 24/7. Do you think its possible!? Do you!? Do you!?

I am gonna visit PPP and see for myself…

P/s - Any tips on starting this is really welcomed here. I am a full time working mommy who miss my beloved baby daughter at work - daily.

It’s really time…

September 14, 2007

I am kinda shocked!!!

I remember just about 1 month back, I told a colleague who is leaving that if this Assistant Manager that is seated in front of me leaves. It would really be a lost to the company. If she leaves, it is so sad…

It is her last day today! I just found out cause she was taking photos around with her team mates and I can see her sad face…

She will be missed!

I am moving on too…now I think I have made the right decision.

God be with me.

Wedding Anniversary, Sembunyi Spa & Transformers

September 12, 2007

"I was beaming at the diamond bracelet on my wrist, awesome….exactly the one I wanted. Gonna show this off to Mom - make her green with envy…Muahahaha!!!"

**smack!!!….ouch!!

I woke up and saw little Zoe sitting on the bed beside me, smiling cause she just practice her smacking on me. Its already almost 9 am…alamak!
Lucky thing Zoe woke me up cause I have a 11 am appointment at Sembunyi Spa…kekeke

After we hurried to prepare ourselves, we took Zoe to her nanny so that she would be taken care of while we go and indulge in all the activities plan for the day.
Note to Zoe - Mommy sorry ar…wait till u r older and can enter the spa, we all go together gather..ok!? Hehehe….

We had our breakfast in Bandar Puteri Puchong, this new place that have been transformed from a lonely kopitiam (previously known as Lou Fu Tzi) to a bustling tim sum restaurant. It was our first time there. The food is really good and especially the egg tart! It’s lip-smacking!!

What good food to start a wonderful day…heh!

It was already almost half past ten when we finish our breakfast, gotta rush to the spa now cause we wanna try out all their other facilities. We reach Sembunyi Spa in Cyberview Lodge a while later and on the way hubby remarked that even on a holiday like this, he still have to use the road to office…hahaha

Once we are there, the feeling was just like we are somewhere far away (again!?)…
Sembunyi Spa was located at another building at the east of the resort, just a short walk away from the car park. The reception area was simple and typical of a spa, not too heavily decorated with Thai & Balinese style stuffs. We were given a choice of massage treatments for our package, 90 minutes man!! and can choose 2 types of massage for 45 minutes each. We took the aromatherapy and Balinese massage, something we are more familiar with. I love their lavendar aromatherapy oil, very soothing smell like a baby product.

The ladies and men’s facilities are separated, so we go our own ways after the reception. A lady show me the way to my locker, the steam, sauna & jacuzzi area and the bath area. Sha said I can change in the locker room, "No changing rooms!?", "This is a lady only area, you can change here ma’am". I went to change in the shower room into the olive green shorts & singlet provided. The clothes makes me look like an auntie that does cleaning job…eww! The facilities are pretty normal, just the jacuzzi was quite nice overlooking the lake. I expected a sexier looking outfit for spa la, something like a batik pareo is sexy enough.
Hubby, on the other hand was given a nicer short tights for men. Not fair.

After a 10 minutes dip in the jacuzzi, I was off to the massage session. The therapist is friendly and gave me a mint scented face towel and a little cup of ginger tea to warm the tummy before the session. The mint scented towel is refreshing!!

The massage is good, but still cannot beat the skills of those therapist in Layan Beach, Phuket. I did not even realise whether it was the aromatherapy massage or the Balinese massage…feels the same to me, the whole of 90 minutes. Felt that it ended too soon…kekeke

After the massage, I went for a swim at their pool overlooking the lake. There were leaves and flowers dropping into the pool from a tree planted beside the pool. Hmm…flower bath!? HaHaHa…

After that, another 5 minutes in the steam and 15 minutes in the jacuzzi. Off to the shower and came out looking like a cooked tomato….HaHaHa….
They should do something to the comb and tissue provided at the dressing area. The comb looks like its been sterilised in a microwave on high and they provide paper napkin for ladies to wipe face…it feels like sand paper to me emoticon

All of that makes both of us poorer by $300.

We head to Mid Valley for lunch and movie. We manage to catch Transformers!, probably the last few screening in the cinema. The movie was great and it brought back some childhood memories in a time when my brother would sold me in exchange for Optimus Prime figurine. Hmmph!!! Autobots rolls!!!! Ha Ha

That part when Sam try to convince his teacher to give him an "A" for the subject - He said, "What would Jesus do?"…HaHaHa! Very funny…He learnt well huh!?

After the movie, we went to Mamours (Planete Enfants) to pick up a toy for Zoe. Our little guilt gift for her, for being away on a holiday…again…Mommy think of u every single seconds ok…Mommy miss u…

It was a good day and by the time I wrote this, I already forgotten what we had for dinner that day…so I’ll just end here….till the next indulgence….

Car..car…

September 11, 2007

January 2008 will mark the last installment payment for my faithful little Kelisa…finally…its been 7 years…

This might not be a big deal to a lot of people, car installment only mar! My brother change his car every few years, I guess its just like majority of others out there…

For me, I am not sure why but I am quite nostalgic about my car. It has seen me thru a lot of things and brought me to a lot of places. On my wedding day, i had plans to decorate it and even prepared the ribbons all ready (thou its not my wedding car), but there was just too much to do and I just merely stick some ribbon on the door handle.

Just another few months more, the car will be debt free. I am just glad. I want to keep this little Kelisa till I turn grey and cranky emoticon

We have been planning to get a new car soon and so far have gone to see Nissan Latio, Honda Civic and City (test drive both) and still waiting to see the all new Toyota Vios.

I just got a call from the Toyota salesman informing me that the new Vios is open for booking now (E-79k, G-85k, S-88k)…

Tempting…not the price, just the car!

Looks like I am gonna be paying for car loan again…another 7 years!?

…trying not to think too hard now…
