Zoe @ 9 months
Zoe is 9 months old today. So, I thought I want to write something about her.
She is weighing at 8Kg now. I found this out during our last visit to the paed for her pneumococcal booster jab.
Over the weekend, I had the privilege of taking care of her alone, at home as Daddy was away on a whole day seminar. I enjoyed the 2 days we were at home and I can see how much she has grown and learned. I remembered telling her how she was such a small baby and I swaddle her so tiny when she show me her cheeky face.
She is so active nowadays, I am beginning to miss the time when she lie down there all day, just feeding, pooing, sightseeing and sleeping…haha
Actually, I am glad to see her growing and every achievement thou it directly translated to more work and exercise for me trying to keep her clean and safe.
About 2 weeks ago, she manage to pull herself up standing by supporting on furniture. Not long after, she started cruising still supporting on furniture and sat down by herself. This morning, she pull herself to stand and was holding her toy with both hands while standing. "Look Ma! No hands!"…
I was cooking dinner in the kitchen yesterday, and she was busy crawling around. She called for me and crawl to me in the kitchen, hanging on to my legs and stand beside me while I cook. I think I gotta get used to this…and get more ideas to distract her
Opening and closing the TV or kitchen cabinet doors repeatedly is one of her favourite past times. Occasionally, she would take out the stuffs inside to examine. When I warned her, she would stop sometimes and this really depends on her mood. Most of the time, she just look at me for 5 seconds and resume back her activity.
She baby talk to me, hubby and other babies. Last weekend cell group, both she and baby Isaac was busy doing baby talks, it really amuses us, the moms. Zoe seems to be complaining that Isaac was holding the coasters she wanted and Isaac seems to be saying that the coasters are his. The expression and sometimes high pitched voice used showed us how intense they can get when they want to communicate…Ha Ha Ha!!!
She learned clapping about 1.5 weeks back and now she uses that effectively. For example, when I use my stern voice to warn her for chewing the table, she claps her hand. When I sing song to her, she claps her hand. When I did nothing and just laze there, she claps her hand. When I want to dress her up after her bath, she claps her hand.
She blows and make the phhuuttt, phuuttt sound with saliva if she dislikes certain things or just for the fun of it. She does this especially at the porridge I cooked for her. I was just thinking, "I know, I know, there porridge are bland, no salt and all, but is it really that bad!?" As a show of encouragement, I ate some of her porridge to show her how good it was, but she bless me with more of her phuuuttt…phuuuttt..phutttt….
When she sees Daddy laze around, that is what she did also.
She loves to eat bread and pao (Chinese steam bun). When she sees me holding a piece of bread, she would chase me and call out till she gets the bread.
She loves the remote controls (anyone of it) more than her toys. If we need to take back the remote control that she took, we need to find something else that she is interested to exchange or she will cry and scold us with her baby language. I wonder how she learn to barter things at this young age
Even when she can utter some really complicated baby language, she has yet to say ma ma or da da or pa pa. She goes yeay yeay or amm amm more. When she baby talk, she seems to be saying something very meaningful to me, but it is really high level baby talk and I ended up getting her high pitched scolding…
She only got 1 bottom tooth sprouted out so far and it is not really straight. I wonder when the next one is coming out and I thought they come out in pairs!?
When we were back in KB hometown, she was baby talking and clapping her hands when she was with my MIL. Grandma thinks she is talkative whereas Grandma is someone very soft spoken and a women of few words…guess she inherited the talking from my side!?
Aaahhh…it is getting really interesting, busy and fun to have Zoe around. She is slowly growing to be an individual that have her own thoughts and habit. Just 9 months ago, she was born so tiny and looking fragile and all mine. Now, she is the little princess of the house
