Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

Home Alone

October 29, 2007

I will be home alone with Zoe from tomorrow onwards for about 11 days as hubby will be away on a biz trip. Actually, not really that alone as my Dad has agreed to stay with us for the duration that hubby is away.

Zoe just recovered from a bad case of flu, cough and phlegm now its my turn to be down with the same terrible bugs. I have been coughing like mad for past few days. I gotta get well soon really fast and hope that Zoe will not catch this bugs again…fingers crossed!!

Zoe has grown to be very attached to hubby and I hope this separation (for the 1st time since she was conceived!!) is not too hard for her to bear. I hope she will just sail thru this period without even noticing it! I hope! I really really hope eventhou the chances is slim as she is really very aware of her surroundings and people around her now. I pray for pleasant nights and no crying till Daddy comes home.

Zoe has started to said "PaPaPaPaPa.." non stop since last week. Thou it sometimes sounds involuntarily, I know she is actually referring to her Daddy as I have spotted a few moments when Hubby is sleeping on the bed and she was sitting beside hubby leaning over to look at him and saying "PaPa..PaPa.." in a very soft angelic tone…that was so sweet till it bring tears to my eyes. We actually teach her to say "Daddy" and "Mommy" for so long but instead she pick up the word PaPa. That just shows that she is purely a "Hokkien kia".

Nowadays, if she see Hubby in sight and he did not came to sit beside her or carry her, she would cry for him. Her cries become louder if Hubby suddenly is out of her sight. She would chase after hubby crawling and crying half way and losing her energy and breathe. She rarely have this sort of response with my presence. I believe that it is true that baby girl are more attached to their Daddy then Mommy. I am one too, I am very close to my PaPa.

I know Hubby is gonna miss her little baby girl a lot too. He took bath for Zoe during the weekends (never or at least rare) and told me he might miss Zoe’s first step. I told him Zoe would not be making such a big progress so fast althou she is really trying all sort of stunts to walk. Some makes her look really funny.

Anyway, this is not something we can avoid at this time and Mommy and Zoe at home is already eagerly waiting for Daddy to bring home some goodies from Down Under yea!? emoticon

Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx, from YouTube

Oceans apart day after day
And I slowly go insane
I hear your voice on the line
But it doesnt stop the pain

If I see you next to never
How can we say forever

Wherever you go
Whatever you do
I will be right here waiting for you….

HaHaHa…I always seems to have a song for every occassion…

  1. Heh….I think daddy will miss Zoe more than Zoe will miss daddy!!! Or maybe I can relate to a grownup’s feelings better than I can tell a baby’s feelings!

Very sweet leh when you describe Zoe and daddy! But I have also been told that it is easier to say “pa” than “ma”….so we mothers are not to get upset when baby’s first words is “pa”!

Hope you get well soon and have pleasant nights as well!
